STAMPIN' UP! FOND OF AUTUMN BIRTHDAY CARD IN BLUSHING BRIDE

This week's Colour Creations blog hop is focussing on Blushing Bride.

I've used the new Fond of Autumn bundle in a non-Autumnal way ... mainly because I just love the large floral spray.  There are acorns in the spray, but I'm choosing to focus on the flowers and berries, which I've watercoloured in Blushing Bride.

Please forgive the wonky photography - it appears I didn't have my head screwed on straight, when I took this photo!

The starting point for my card was the delight I felt, in discovering some Blushing Bride paper in the new Gingham Cottage Designer Series Paper pack.  I sponged this paper around the edges with Blushing Bride ink, and matted it on a slightly larger panel of Blushing Bride card.

I stamped the focal image in Versamark ink on Thick Basic White card, and heat-embossed it with white embossing powder.  Using reinkers (drops of ink on an acrylic block) and a Water Painter, I coloured the image with Blushing Bride, Crumb Cake and Soft Suede inks.  I was interested to see the Blushing Bride ink's bluish tones, on Basic White card.

The sentiment, white-embossed on Crumb Cake card, is from the Charming Sentiments bundle.  I mounted it on a Stitched Rectangle of Blushing Bride card, tucked under the Natural Finish Ribbon laid across the card.  I added some pink Solid Faceted Gems to the ribbon.

A piece of Abigail Rose DSP grounds the die-cut floral spray.  I couldn't decide between a scalloped or more delicate border die-cut, so I used both!  A Linen Thread bow was added as a finishing touch:

STAMPIN' UP! SPRUCED UP SANTA EXPRESS CHRISTMAS CARD

While I had the supplies out to make my first Christmas card of the year, shared for last night's Heart of Christmas blog hop, I created a second card.

The dies in the Spruced Up bundle are super-versatile.  I love that when cutting out the trees, you get two die cuts in one.  The tree dies are designed to cut around the co-ordinating stamped image, as well as giving an outline die-cut.  I've used one solid, and two outlines, on my card:

Here's a closer look at the die-cut trees, and the two designs of Santa Express DSP I used on my card.  I had a few presents left over from the stamping I did for last night's card, so popped them at the base of my stamped tree.

The sentiment, stamped in Mint Macaron ink on Basic White card, was cut out using a Labels Aglow Die (which you will be seeing a LOT on my cards!).  I love the sparkle of the Iridescent Rhinestones on this paper:

HEART OF CHRISTMAS WEEK 1: SPRUCED UP TREE CARD

I'm very excited to be taking part in the Heart of Christmas weekly blog hops, every Monday until late November.  Stampin' Up! has lots of beautiful new Christmas products, in the July - December Mini Catalogue.  My card features the new Spruced Up bundle.  The colour scheme I've used comes from the Santa's Express Designer Series Paper.

I had a lot of fun making this Christmas card, with a modern, playful, look.  The trees were stamped in Mint Macaron ink on Basic White card.  The presents were stamped in Bermuda Bay, Petal Pink, and Poppy Parade, and were (along with the trees) cut out with co-ordinating dies.  I've used another of the super-cute dies in the set - the string of Christmas lights.  Because it's a fairly delicate die-cut, I put Adhesive Sheet on a piece of Basic White card before cutting two strings of lights.  I used Stampin' Blends markers, in Dark Petal Pink, Dark Bermuda Bay and Dark Poppy Parade, to colour the bulbs.  Taking the backing paper off the Adhesive Sheet meant it was easy and clean to adhere the lights to the piece of Basic White card I'd cut with a border from Blossoming Happiness Dies.

The dotty Poppy Parade paper I've used is from the Brights 6"x6" DSP pack.

Isn't this sentiment label, cut from the Labels Aglow Dies, just beautiful?  The sentiment is stamped in Poppy Parade ink.
