STAMPIN' UP! BABY CARD IN BALMY BLUE

This week's Colour Creations blog hop is all about Balmy Blue.  I know it's more fashionable at the moment for baby clothes and cards to be in more gender-neutral tones, but I like this soft blue for a baby card.

My favourite waving bear, from the Happier Than Happy bundle, features on my card - because he's cute!  I stamped the bear in Soft Suede ink on Basic White card, then cut him out using the co-ordinating die.  Using a Stylish Shapes Die, I cut a circle from a piece of Happy Forest Friends DSP, and mounted it on a Thick Basic White die-cut circle for stability.

On a panel of Sahara Sand card, I adhered a different piece of Happy Forest Friends DSP, and a piece of Balmy Blue DSP (from the 6"x6" Subtles Collection).  I laid a length of Natural Finish Ribbon across the join of the papers, and tied a Linen Thread knot around it.  The circles are raised up on Stampin' Dimensionals.

Using my Dark Balmy Blue Stampin' Blends marker, I coloured some Basic Pearls to tie in with the colour scheme.

Tying in with the forest theme, I have used a couple of acorns, die-cut from Sahara Sand card, as a sweet embellishment on the DSP flag created with an All That Die.

Here's a close-up of the sentiment, that I stamped in Soft Suede ink on Basic White card, before die-cutting with a Stylish Shapes Die:

STAMPIN' UP! UNIQUELY ARTISTIC "HELLO" CARD IN TAHITIAN TIDE

Today I am sharing the second card I made, featuring Tahitian Tide - one of Stampin' Up!'s beautiful new In Colors, that will be in our range for two years.

For this card, I inked up the Uniquely Artistic stamp set, stamping the outline leafy image twice in Tahitian Tide, and once in Memento Tuxedo Black, ink on Basic White card.  I cut out the stamped piece using a Fabulous Frames Die.  I think this frame shape and the embossed details are lovely.

I cut the largest Fabulous Frames from a piece of Basic Black card, and used only the inner piece as the base for my stamped frame.  As you can better see from this photo, I raised the inside portion of the smaller decorative frame on Stampin' Dimensionals:

The Tahitian Tide background panel was embossed using a Thanks & Hello embossing folder.  These are narrow embossing folders, so I embossed half the card front, horizontally, then ran it back through my Stampin' Cut & Emboss machine to emboss the other half.

I stamped the sentiment, from Forever Fern, on a scrap of Basic Black card using Versamark ink.  After heat-embossing it in white, I cropped it using the third and smallest frame from the Fabulous Frames Dies.  A couple of Tahitian Tide Matte Decorative Dots were added either side of the sentiment.

A strip of Tahitian Tide Glimmer Paper adds a bit of sparkle to the bottom of my card front.  I wrapped Black & White Gingham Ribbon around the card layers, before adding a bow made from the same ribbon.

STAMPIN' UP! PRETTY MEDALLION THANKS CARD IN TAHITIAN TIDE

Tonight's Colour Creations blog hop is all about Tahitian Tide, the last in our series of new In Colors that we're showing off before launching into our alphabetical-order showcase of Stampin' Up!'s core colour range.  Tahitian Tide is a really uplifting, bright, turquoise.

I made two cards for this week's colour challenge, and it was a bit tough to decide which one would be blogged tonight!  I have opted for a pretty simple design, in Tahitian Tide and Basic White, with touches of silver.  The star of my card is the gorgeous new Pretty Medallion background stamp, which I have white heat-embossed on Tahitian Tide card.

After embossing the beautiful intricate stamped design, I added some stitched frame detail with a Stitched With Whimsy die.

The sentiment, from Sending Smiles, was heat-embossed in silver on a piece of Basic White card, and cut out using one of the Sending Dies.  The main panel has been matted on a Basic White panel, and a thin silver panel.

I added a few Rhinestone Basic Jewels to tie in with the silver accents.
