STAMPIN' UP!'S BE THE STAR, FOR ETHAN

Today is my youngest son's 14th birthday!  Ethan has always been a shining star in our family (even his big brother would have to admit he's a pretty good kid), so I have made a star-themed card to mark this occasion.

Over these school holidays, Ethan will be working really hard at the Royal Melbourne Show - we exhibit, and sell, organic snack foods (our family business) every year.  In anticipation of a busy two weeks, Ethan said his "ideal birthday" would be spent sleeping in, playing FIFA on PlayStation, watching a movie, and having pizza for dinner.  He's pretty easy to cater for!

Here are the Stampin' Up! products I used to make this card:

JAI #232 : STAMPIN' UP! FLOWER FRENZY GRID JOURNAL

This week's Just Add Ink challenge is to use this inspiration pic as a jumping-off point for your papercraft project:

I have used my Flower Frenzy Bigz die to create a bloom, to adorn one of Stampin' Up!'s kraft grid journals.  I think this would make a nice little notebook for affirmations, or to record happy thoughts - don't you think we should all take the time to do this?

As you might be able to see from my photo above, I have "sueded" my cardstock, to give it softness and texture.  I die-cut the flower shapes, then used a bone folder to break up the fibres of the card ... it was possible, after working the card from the centre outwards several times, to separate each die-cut piece into two.  The core of the cardstock has a lovely fluffy look and feel!

All of the Stampin' Up! products I used to make this project are detailed below, and can be purchased from my online store (just click on the image/s):
