STAMPIN' UP! WOVEN TEXTURES BIRTHDAY CARD

Today's card is a simple card, allowing the Woven Textures Designer Series Paper to shine.

I created the background similarly to yesterday's card.  First, I cut a panel of Basic White card, and covered it with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  I then adhered 1.5cm-wide strips of the Woven Textures DSP.  Finally, I used a Perennial Postage Die to give this piece decorative edges.

The patterned paper background is matted on a piece of Crumb Cake card, that has been sponged around the edges with Crumb Cake ink.  This was then adhered to a Gray Granite card base.

The fab sentiment, from the new Layered Thoughts stamp set (out on 6th May), was stamped in Early Espresso ink on a piece of Crumb Cake card.  I sponged the edges of this piece with Crumb Cake ink.  Either side of the word "Happy", I punched a small hole, and threaded Linen Thread through.  After knotting and trimming one end, I secured the other end to the back side of the sentiment panel, using Tear & Tape.

The sentiment panel is raised up on Stampin' Dimensionals.

Again I have used Adhesive-Backed Textured Dots, to finish off my card design.

Inside the card, I added a piece of Woven Textures DSP that I'd cut using the largest Perennial Postage Die.  I trimmed down my card base so that it looks more proportionate with the die size (as our A5 card bases are larger than the US card size).

Listed below are all the current products I used to make this card.  The Layered Thoughts stamp set is not available to purchase until 6th May, unless you'd like to join my team before then, to get early access to new products (along with several other benefits).  If this is of interest to you, click on the "Join My Stampin' Up! STAMPIN' UP! TRUSTY TOOLS BIRTHDAY CARD WITH WOVEN TEXTURES DSP

Today's card is my first creation with the Woven Textures Designer Series Paper.  The natural, earthy, tones lend themselves well to a masculine card.  This card also features a new favourite sentiment stamp set - Layered Thoughts - that is coming out in the new Annual Catalogue on 6th May.

To create the patterned background, I first cut a number of 1.5cm wide strips of Woven Textures DSP.  I covered a Basic White piece of card with Multipurpose Liquid Glue, then adhered the strips.  Lastly, I cut out the decorated piece of card using a Textured Notes Die.

This panel is mounted on a slightly larger piece of Gray Granite card, and an Early Espresso card base.  I did cut down the size of the card base a little, to better fit the largest Textured Notes Die.

The sentiment was stamped in Early Espresso ink, on a piece of the Woven Textures DSP.  After cutting it out using another of the Textured Notes Dies, I stamped the nuts, bolts and screws in Crumb Cake ink.  I used Crumb Cake ink to sponge around the edges of this die-cut piece.

Using Gray Granite ink, I stamped the paintbrush onto Gray Granite card, then cut it out using the co-ordinating die.  A separate die, for the bristles, was used to cut a piece of Early Espresso card.  I added an Adhesive-Backed Textured Dot to the brush handle.

I stamped the spanner onto Gray Granite card, using Gray Granite ink, and onto Crumb Cake card, using Early Espresso ink.  I snipped the Crumb Cake image at the handle, and adhered it to the Gray Granite die-cut.  Don't the Textured Dots look great on a "guy" card?

Inside the card I added a piece of DSP, cut using the largest Textured Notes Die.

Listed below are the current products I used to make this card.  The Layered Thoughts stamp set is not available until 6th May, unless you'd like to join my Stampin' Up! team, to be able to pre-order products before they're officially available.  If this is something that appeals to you, you might like to click on the "Join My Stampin' Up! Team" tab up the top of this page.

Tomorrow I will share another Woven Textures card, before I take a week's break; I'm off on a little holiday.

STAMPIN' UP! BRIGHT SKIES FRIENDSHIP CARD

I've used Stampin' Up!'s Bright Skies stamps and dies to make a sweet card, that I hope puts a smile on your face today!

The background paper is from the Timeless Plaid Designer Series Paper pack.  I sponged the edges with Boho Blue ink, and matted it on a Boho Blue card layer and Thick Basic White card base.

On Basic White card, I stamped the clouds using Bubble Bath, Boho Blue and Lemon Lolly inks.  The tulips were stamped in Pretty in Pink ink, with Granny Apple Green stems and leaves.  All of these stamped images were cut out using co-ordinating dies.

The sentiment was stamped in Boho Blue ink, and I added some stamped flowers in Bubble Bath and Lemon Lolly ink.

Adhesive-Backed Shiny Sequins add even more sunshiney cheer.

Not only might the lovely soft colours make you smile, but the fact I had nearly finished creating my card, when I inadvertently touched a couple of spots with very inky fingers.

Nothing a couple of strategically-placed flowers can't fix!  (Sorry the colours are a bit "off", but I just quickly snapped this near-disaster with my phone.)

Here's "corrective flower #1" in Lemon Lolly:

... and "corrective flower #2" in Daffodil Delight:
