JAI #286: STAMPIN' UP! WATERCOLOUR WINGS IN WISTERIA

I was tempted to add "Wonder" to the end of the title of today's blog post, but decided it might just be alliteration overload!

This week's Just Add Ink challenge, set by Tina, is to "Just Add Anything starting with W".  Boy, this allows for a wiiiiiiide scope of ideas!  We hope you'll put on your thinking cap, and play along with us.

I have incorporated Wisteria Wonder (a delightful purple in Stampin' Up!'s core colour range), wings, and washi tape on the card I'm sharing with you today.  I decided it's about time I made a butterfly card; I've been resting that theme lately!

The butterfly, although not terribly obvious in my photo (shall I add "woeful lighting" to my list of W words used today?), is double-layered.  The lacy top layer is cut from Wisteria Wonder card, that I first stamped using Wisteria Wonder ink and Watercolor Wings stamp set.  I silver-embossed the butterfly's body.  The patterns peeking through the butterfly die-cut are thanks to Everyday Chic Designer Washi tape.  I lay horizontal strips, of the two silver designs in the pack of washi, across a piece of Whisper White card, then die cut a solid butterfly shape.  Here's a closer look at the washi butterfly layer:

STAMPIN' UP! CELEBRATE TODAY FOR JAI #285

This week's colour challenge at Just Add Ink really had me stumped!

The challenge is to incorporate all these colours on a papercraft project:

I came up with an idea for our sweet neighbour's 10th birthday card, and am really pleased with how I got the colours working together.  I really struggle to pair navy blue with pink.  The answer, for me, was to just add a small amount of Night of Navy, on the sentiment.  Here's my card:

Make sure you check out how the rest of the Design Team have used these colours; we hope you are inspired to play along with us!

STAMPIN' UP! LIGHTHEARTED LEAVES BIRTHDAY CARD

I have inked up for the first time my new Lighthearted Leaves stamp set, to make a card for my father-in-law's birthday.  This is such a beautiful, versatile, set ... I look forward to trying out lots of different colour combinations.

The colour combo I've used on this card is Soft Suede, Island Indigo, and Very Vanilla.  That gorgeous sentiment comes from the great stamp set included in Stampin' Up!'s Watercolor Wishes card kit.
