RICH RAZZLEBERRY BLENDED BLOOM

I have, scattered all over my table, a variety of coloured Blended Bloom flowers.  This new stamp, coming out in our Stampin' Up! catalogue on 1st July, is a whole lot of fun to colour with Blendabilities (the new alcohol based markers).  I have lots coloured, ready to mount on cards!

When I was ready to make a card with the flower I'd coloured with Rich Razzleberry Blendabilities, I consulted my Color Coach for some ideas of other colours to use.  I've gone with muted tones of grey and black, and have to say I LOVE the end result - it looks so elegant.

Stamps: Blended Bloom (out 1st July), Kinda Eclectic (out 1st July), Sassy Salutations
Card: Basic Gray, Whisper White, Rich Razzleberry
DSP: Moonlight Designer Series Paper stack (out 1st July)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black inkpad, Versamark inkpad, Rich Razzleberry stampin' pad, Basic Gray stampin' pad, Rich Razzleberry Blendabilities (out 1st July)
Other: White Stampin' Emboss powder, Large Basic Rhinestone (coloured with Blendabilities), Antique Brads, Whisper White Organza ribbon, paper snips, sponge daubers

JAI #220: JUST ADD A SKETCH, WITH STAMPIN' UP! MOONLIGHT DSP

My love affair with Stampin' Up!'s new Moonlight Designer Series Paper continues.  It is the star of my card for this week's Just Add Ink challenge - a sketch provided by Kim.

Here's the sketch to use as a starting point for a card, scrapbook page, or other papercraft project:

** It's the last challenge of the month, so this week is our "Guest Designer"challenge; if you are interested, all you need do is play along with this week's challenge!

(The details: For the last challenge of each month, we will be offering the "TOP PICK" for that week, the opportunity to join us as a "Guest Designer" for the last challenge the following month....If this sounds like something you would like to do, get creating and come join us at Just Add Ink.) **

I've used my favourite paper of the moment, and the colours contained in it - Blackberry Bliss, Hello Honey and Sahara Sand.  I'm pretty pleased with the sentiment panel I created.  Using one of the very cool stamps from the new Work of Art stamp set, I 'stamped off' each colour to lessen the vibrancy, then stamped the sentiment over the top in Staz-On ink.

Stamps: Starburst Sayings, Work of Art (available 1st July), Lots of Thanks
Card: Hello Honey, Blackberry Bliss, Whisper White
DSP: Moonlight Designer Series Paper stack
Ink: Blackberry Bliss, Hello Honey and Sahara Sand stampin' pads, Jet Black Staz-On inkpad
Other: Starburst framelits, Circles Collection framelits, Itty Bitty Accents punch pack (available 1st July), Basic Rhinestones, Blendabilities (Daffodil Delight and Rich Razzleberry - darkest of each collection - to colour the rhinestones), White Baker's Twine, sponge dauber, glue dots, multipurpose liquid glue

The rest of the Just Add Ink Design Team have some fabulous creations using this sketch, so be sure to check them out.  We'd love for you to play along with us.

THE OPEN SEA MEETS MARITIME DSP, FOR DAD

My dear old Dad had a birthday yesterday.  I had a lot of fun making his card, using the beautiful new Maritime Designer Series Papers from Stampin' Up! - they're a perfect match for The Open Sea, one of my favourite stamp sets for masculine cards.

Although it's not really obvious in the photo, the main panel of white card was cut out using the new Project Life Cards & Labels Framelits.  Super-useful size for card fronts!

Stamps: The Open Sea, Four You
Card: Night of Navy, Whisper White
DSP: Maritime Designer Series Paper (available 1st July)
Ink: Coastal Cabana, Real Red, Night of Navy and Sahara Sand stampin' pads, Real Red and Night of Navy stitched grosgrain ribbon, Project Life Cards & Labels framelits, Regals Candy Dot & Candy Dot Brad Base, 1 3/8" Circle punch, sponge dauber

JAI #219 : SOMETHING FOR BABY

Our Just Add Ink challenge this week is provided by Trish, who came up with this fabulous inspiration pic for us to use as a starting-point for a card or other papercraft project:

I started off with the idea of making a bold, geometric-design, masculine card - but, as often happens, the image in my head just would not translate to paper!!  So, I ended up with something completely different to my original plan.  I was inspired by the stripes, and the bold yellow that I see as Crushed Curry.  Here's my take on the challenge, using a cute new stamp from the Something For Baby stamp set (out 1st July).  Check out the matching framelits and paper-piercing template around the duck -  such fun!

Stamps: Something for Baby (out 1st July), That's the Ticket
Card: Smoky Slate, Basic Gray, Whisper White, Crushed Curry
DSP: Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper
Ink: Smoky Slate, Basic Gray and Crushed Curry stampin' pads
Other: Smoky Slate chevron ribbon, Ticket Duo punch, White baker's twine, 1 3/8" Circle punch, Circles Collection framelits, 2 3/8" Scallop Circle punch, Baby's First Framelits (out 1st July), Eclectic Paper-piercing pack (out 1st July), sponge dauber, Basics Glimmer brads, stampin' dimensionals, glue dots

The rest of the Design Team members have come up with some AMAZING cards using this inspiration pic, so be sure to check them out, here.  Why not join in the fun, and link up your card, too?  We'd love to see your creation.

STAMPIN' UP! MOONLIGHT BLENDED BLOOM

I have been having a play with some new goodies that will be available to purchase from the new Stampin' Up! catalogue going live on 1st July.  One of the many perks of being a demonstrator is the ability to pre-order a range of items ahead of the catalogue release date, which is pretty exciting for those of us who are obsessed with Stampin' Up!

The Blended Bloom stamp is so much fun to colour with the new Blendabilities (alcohol-based markers).  Here I've coloured the flower with the Rich Razzleberry selection (three shades) of Blendabilities.  I've opened my pad of Moonlight Designer Series Paper, and seriously LOVE it!!  Here you can see two of the new "In Colors", Blackberry Bliss and Hello Honey:

Stamps: Blended Bloom (avail. 1st July), Kinda Eclectic(avail 1st July), Gifts of Kindness

CALYPSO CORAL SECRET GARDEN - #2 IN THE SERIES

The other night when I had my first play with the new Calypso Coral Blendabilities, from Stampin' Up!, I coloured several flowers from the Secret Garden stamp set.

Here's a card I made, after stamping the gorgeous flowers onto a die cut piece I had lying around on my desk.  I've used Crystal Effects in the flower centres, and love how it gives depth to the ink colour.

Stamps: Secret Garden, Bring On the Cake
Card: Crumb Cake, Whisper White
DSP: Calypso Coral Designer Series Paper
Ink: Memento Black inkpad, Crumb Cake stampin' pad, Calypso Coral Blendabilities
Other: Subtles Candy Dots, Apothecary Accents framelits, Beautiful Wings embosslits, 7/16" Natural Trim, Basic Pearls, Crystal Effects, Sponge Dauber, Essentials Paper-Piercing pack

Unfortunately,  the Secret Garden stamps and framelits, and Bring On the Cake stamp set, are all retiring at the end of this month.  If you want to check out the retiring products, and perhaps even grab yourself a bargain, please visit my online store.

STAMPIN' UP! SECRET GARDEN IN CALYPSO CORAL

I recently attended Stampin' Up!'s fabulous Inspire.Create.Share.2014 event in Melbourne; as always, our annual Convention was A-MA-ZING. I was lucky enough, along with about 690 others, to receive some of the new Blendabilities alcohol markers!!  We received a pack of the Calypso Coral Blendabilities, along with a gorgeous stamp, as an all-attendee giveaway.   LOVE Stampin' Up!'s generosity.  As a result of this gesture on their part, it's entirely possible that the Australian/New Zealand blog world, of Stampin' Up! demonstrators, will in coming weeks be saturated with images coloured in Calypso Coral!  I have new colours on the way, so will try to mix it up a bit.

I'm a bit sad to see the lovely Secret Garden stamp set and framelits on the Retired List this year; they are available to buy only until the end of this month.  Our new catalogue, which launches 1st July, does however have a new, gorgeous, floral stamp set and matching framelits, so I won't be bereft for long!

One of my FAVOURITE things about now having alcohol-based markers in our range, is that I'll be able to custom-colour rhinestones, pearls, buttons, and other embellishments.  Check out how pretty these rhinestones look, coloured with the darkest of the three markers in the Calypso Coral Blendabilities pack:

I used the Blendabilities to colour both the flowers and the rhinestones.  Here's my card, in its entirety:

Stamps: Secret Garden, Blooming With Kindness
Card: Calypso Coral, Whisper White
DSP: Epic Day This & That Designer Series Paper
Ink: Memento Black inkpad, Calypso Coral and Basic Gray stampin' pads, Calypso Coral Blendabilities
Other: Adorning Accents Edgelits and embossing folder, Chalk Talk framelits, Secret Garden framelits, Delicate Details Lace Tape, Epic Day This & That washi tape, Calypso Coral baker's twine, Basic Gray stitched grosgrain ribbon, Basic Rhinestones, sponge dauber, Neutrals button (retired), glue dots
