This week's Colour Creations blog hop sees us showcasing Calypso Coral. I've used this lovely colour combination, with the Layers of Beauty bundle:
I stamped the large floral spray in Versamark ink, on Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper. After sprinkling white embossing powder over the image, I used my heat gun to melt the powder. The white-embossed outline on watercolor paper was a bit hard for my old eyes to see well, to be able to colour, so I started off by adding a wash of Petal Pink ink all over, and around the edges of, the image. To watercolour with my Stampin' Up! inks, I squeeze a couple of drops of reinker into a palette/dish, and use a Water Painter to dilute and paint with the ink.
Once the Petal Pink ink was dry, I was able to add the additional colours, one at a time.
Here's a closer look at the background, and the sentiment. On a panel of Petal Pink card, I stamped Sketched Plaid in Petal Pink ink. I sponged the edges of this piece with Petal Pink ink, and mounted it on a slightly larger piece of Basic White card.
Using a sweet little die from the Layers of Beauty Die set, I cut a Calypso Coral tag. I like the font of the "thanks", created using a Labeled with Love stamp. The stamp says "thanks friend", but I covered the "friend" part with washi tape before inking the stamp with Versamark. I removed the washi tape mask, stamped on the Calypso Coral tag, and sprinkled white embossing powder over the word, then melted the powder with my heat tool. A Flirty Flamingo Rainbow Adhesive-Backed Dot was added to the tag.
The large scripty "friend" was die-cut using Friends For Life Dies. I stuck Adhesive Sheet on a piece of Calypso Coral card before cutting the finer layer of the word. This made it easy to stick the word onto a Basic White die-cut mat of the same word, after peeling off the backing paper.
Using reinkers and a Water Painter, I coloured the daisies in Flirty Flamingo ink, with Petal Pink for the centres. The roses are Calypso Coral, and the leaves Old Olive.
The coloured focal piece was cut out using the co-ordinating die.
Inside the card, I added a Basic White panel. I stamped Sketched Plaid in Petal Pink ink, on a smaller piece of Petal Pink card. After sponging the edges with Petal Pink ink, I adhered it to the bottom of the Basic White piece.
