STAMPIN' UP! MOUNTAIN AIR MASCULINE BIRTHDAY CARD

Whilst playing with the Mountain Air bundle, and Sahara Sand, for this week's Colour Creations Showcase, I made a second card.

I started off by stamping the mountains, in Sahara Sand ink, on a piece of Basic White card.  The clouds are stamped in Seaside Spray ink, and the birds in Memento Tuxedo Black.  The mountain and cloud stamps are reversible.  I first stamped the solid, unetched, side, then cleaned the stamps and turned them over, to add details in the same colours.

The Basic White panel has been cut with a Stitched Nested Label Die, and mounted on a piece of Sahara Sand card that I embossed with the Evergreen Forest 3D embossing folder.  Using a sponge dauber, I rubbed Sahara Sand ink over the embossed panel.

You can see the background detail more clearly in this photo.  Those tree dies are what sold me on this bundle; love them (especially cut using Basic Black card).

After stamping the mountains, and die-cutting the Basic White piece, I sponged some Sahara Sand ink along the "ground".  The sentiment, from Well Said, was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Sahara Sand card, then die cut with a Stitched Rectangles Die.  A few Matte Black Dots finish off the card.

STAMPIN' UP! MASCULINE BIRTHDAY CARD FOR PP536

I saw this great colour challenge at The Paper Players, and decided to get in my craft room and make a masculine card.

I have barely used Merry Merlot in my crafting, but I have to say I LOVE how it looks with Misty Moonlight.  Here's how I used these colours together:

The plaid background (which reminds me of a flannel shirt) was created by stamping the Buffalo Check background stamp onto Basic White card.  I inked up part of the stamp with my Merry Merlot inkpad, and stamped it onto the white card, using my Stamparatus.  I reinked it a couple of times to get a good, dark, impression.  After cleaning the ink off the stamp, I inked the remaining part of the stamp with my Misty Moonlight inkpad, and stamped it onto the Basic White card, above the Merry Merlot stamped image.  I then used Blending Brushes, and Merry Merlot and Misty Moonlight inkpads, to blend colour over the stamped Buffalo Check piece.  This checked panel was trimmed down, so I could mount it on a Misty Moonlight piece of card (that I'd embossed with the Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder), and a thin mat of Merry Merlot card.

Here's a closer look at the sentiment on the card.  The "happy" was cut from Merry Merlot card, using the soon-to be retired Happy Dies (I will miss them!!).  The word "birthday", from the Well Said stamp set, was stamped in Merry Merlot ink on a scrap of Crumb Cake card, that I then cropped with a Tasteful Labels Die.

I wrapped some Misty Moonlight ribbon around the front of the card, and added a second knotted piece of ribbon on top, using Glue Dots.

The top half of the card features the Geared Up Garage bundle.  I stamped the car in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, on Basic White card, and coloured it using Misty Moonlight Stampin' Blends markers.  My Light Smoky Slate Stampin' Blends marker was used on the glass and metal parts of the car.  On a Crumb Cake Stitched Rectangle die cut, I stamped (in Crumb Cake ink) some splotches, to ground the car, that I adhered after die-cutting.

Some Misty Moonlight die-cut gears, and enamel dots, finish off my card.

Thanks to LeAnne, at The Paper Players, for this fun challenge.  I really enjoyed it.
