STAMPIN' UP! FOREVER LOVELY BIRTHDAY CARD

You know how sometimes you make a card, and it turns out nothing like what you had in mind?  Often, that can be a good thing - a serendipitous surprise.  Other times, not so much!  Not too many of my cards make it into the rubbish these days, but this one came close!  I thought I'd share it anyway, since I'd been to a bit of trouble to line up the stamped flowers with the die-cut overlay, LOL.

STAMPIN' UP! FOREVER LOVELY FRIENDSHIP CARD

There are some gorgeous designs on the papers in Stampin' Up!'s All My Love Designer Series Paper pack.  I've teamed one of the floral papers with the Forever Lovely suite of products, and the gorgeous Life Is Grand stamp set.

To create the scalloped rectangle mat, for my sentiment, I first cut a stitched rectangle from Lovely Lipstick card.  I then used the sweet scalloped edge die, from the Be Mine framelits collection, to add detail to the edges.  Not perfectly executed, but it did the trick!

Some of the delicate colour co-ordinated touches added to my card are enamel dots in Lovely Lipstick, and sequins in Soft Sea Foam (there are three of these, but one is hidden by my watermark).

STAMPIN' UP! FOREVER LOVELY BIRTHDAY CARD

In creating today's share, I have teamed Forever Lovely with the Be Mine Stitched framelits dies, and  the fabulous Life is Grand stamp set.  The size of the sentiments in this set really appeals to me, and the shading created by the Distinktive stamp design yields a very cool result.  It looks like you've stamped twice (once in a lighter ink, and stamped over in darker ink), when in fact you need only ink and use the stamp once.
