JAI #267: STAMPIN' UP! BABY CARD USING TYPOGRAPHY

This week at Just Add Ink, Di has set us the challenge to Just Add TypographyHere's what I found on Wikipedia:

"Typography is the art and technique of arranging type to make written language readable and appealing. The arrangement of type involves selecting typefaces, point size, line length, line-spacing (leading), letter-spacing (tracking), and adjusting the space within letters pairs (kerning)."

I decided upon using a collection of different fonts, to create the focal point of my card.  I used so many stamp sets to make this card!!  I have listed them all at the bottom of my post ... it does make me laugh that I told my husband that this card-making caper would save so much money (rather than buying cards)!  I just went through my stamp collection, and used a variety of stamps that were relevant for a baby card.

Be sure to check out the rest of the Just Add Ink Design Team creations; and we'd love to have you play along with us!

JAI #234: JUST ADD BABY

At Just Add Ink this week, Trish has set the challenge to "Just Add Baby" - as she is about to become a Mama for the first time!  How lovely; I remember those glorious days of anticipating the arrival of my first bub.  (Amazing, really, since I can barely remember what I did last weekend!)

Here's my girl-baby creation, using Blushing Bride, Very Vanilla and Crumb Cake:

I photographed my card in poor light, so you probably can't tell, but I used the "kissing" technique on the pram (baby carriage).  I inked it up first in Blushing Bride ink, then "kissed" the inked stamp against the I Love Lace stamp that was inked in Crumb Cake.  It's a subtle, muted effect.  Can you see the little booties dangling from the ribbon?

Here are the products I used to make this card:

You must visit the Just Add Ink site to see the gorgeous baby creations made by the rest of the Design Team - just adorable!  We hope you'll join in the fun, and link up your card/scrapbook page/other papercraft item with a baby theme, too.

A STAMPIN' UP! BABY SHOWER CARD

On Saturday I had the pleasure of attending my niece's baby shower.  Not knowing what "colour" baby we are expecting to join the family, I thought Pistachio Pudding would be a good colour to use.   I handmade a matching envelope, and cute tag, that were attached to the gifts wrapped in brown paper - it all looked very sweet, if I may say so myself.  However, a brain fade meant that I didn't photograph the whole ensemble - just the card!  Here it is:

All of the Stampin' Up! products I used to make this card may be purchased from my online store; just click on the image(s) below.
