JAI #267: STAMPIN' UP! BABY CARD USING TYPOGRAPHY

This week at Just Add Ink, Di has set us the challenge to Just Add TypographyHere's what I found on Wikipedia:

"Typography is the art and technique of arranging type to make written language readable and appealing. The arrangement of type involves selecting typefaces, point size, line length, line-spacing (leading), letter-spacing (tracking), and adjusting the space within letters pairs (kerning)."

I decided upon using a collection of different fonts, to create the focal point of my card.  I used so many stamp sets to make this card!!  I have listed them all at the bottom of my post ... it does make me laugh that I told my husband that this card-making caper would save so much money (rather than buying cards)!  I just went through my stamp collection, and used a variety of stamps that were relevant for a baby card.

Be sure to check out the rest of the Just Add Ink Design Team creations; and we'd love to have you play along with us!

STAMPIN' UP! BRAVO, I THINK YOU'RE GREAT!

The main sentiment, from Stampin' Up's I Think You're Great stamp set, conjured up thoughts in my mind of a "congratulations" card.  I have teamed the stamp with a few from the awesome Bravo stamp set, and my latest crush (Bohemian Designer Series Paper), to come up with this:

See the cool effect on the circular sentiment?

We were shown, at Stampin' Up!'s Inspire.Create.Share. event, how this stamp set lends itself beautifully to the "kissing" technique.  I inked up the sentiment in Delightful Dijon ink, then pressed the stamp to the rubber of a florally/flourish (I don't quite know how best to describe it!) stamp in the set.  The pattern of the uninked stamp makes an impression on the inked stamp, so when the sentiment is applied to cardstock, it doesn't just have a plain background.  Cute, don't you think?

I've listed below all the Stampin' Up! products used to make this card.  If you click on any of the thumbnail images, you'll be taken direct to my online store.

STAMPIN' UP! CONGRATULATIONS CARD, FOR JAI #259

This week at Just Add Ink, Patrice has challenged us to "Just Add ... Sequins" to our papercraft project.

I had in mind a way to use a whole string of Bermuda Bay sequins across a card, but couldn't get the card to look ANYTHING like it looked in my head, so canned that idea!  I've instead taken individual sequins off my roll of Bermuda Bay sequin trim, and am much happier with the result.

All of the fun products I used to create this card are listed below, and if you click on any of the icons, you'll be taken to my online store.

Make sure you check out the rest of the beautiful Design Team creations.  We'd love to see your card or scrapbook page, using sequins, linked up over at Just Add Ink, too!
