STAMPIN' UP! THANK YOU CARD IN ORCHID OASIS

I really enjoyed creating with Orchid Oasis, one of Stampin' Up!'s five new In Colors, for the blog hop last night.  Using the same beautiful Perfectly Penciled DSP, and Fabulous Frames Dies, I've made a second card.

I used a different sheet of the Designer Series Paper, and cut a piece with a Fabulous Frames Die.  I left the frame uncoloured, and used Stampin' Blends markers to colour the centre cut-out piece.

Onto the Orchid Oasis card base, I adhered a Basic White mat layer, and some Orchid Oasis 6"x6" DSP.  I stuck down the coloured centre piece, and popped up the frame on Stampin' Dimensionals.

You can see in this photo the shimmer on the flowers, thanks to some Wink of Stella painted on, after the flowers had been coloured with Orchid Oasis Stampin' Blends.  I used Orchid Oasis and So Saffron Stampin' Blends markers on the butterflies, and removed a little colour with the Color Lifter pen.

The sentiment, from Artfully Layered, was stamped in Orchid Oasis ink on Basic White card, and cut out using Harvest Dies.   I am loving the ombre tones of the new In Color Matte Decorative Dots, and have already ordered some more!

Using the Light Orchid Oasis Stampin' Blends marker, I coloured some White Crinkled Seam Binding, to beautifully finish off my card design:

Inside the card, I added a Basic White layer, adorned at the bottom with a strip of the same DSP, that I had coloured:

STAMPIN' UP! BIRTHDAY CARD IN ORCHID OASIS

Tonight's Colour Creations blog hop is the first in our new round, of sharing papercraft projects featuring Stampin' Up!'s colours.  Before we get in to the strictly alphabetical list of colours, we are showing off the five new In Colors introduced to Stampin' Up!'s range just this week.  Our first colour to share with you is Orchid Oasis, a purple-blue.

Unfortunately my photography (or, the light in my craft room at the time of taking my photos) doesn't show the true purple tones of this gorgeous colour.  I hope you'll still enjoy seeing what I have made!

The frame surrounding my main floral panel was created with the new Fabulous Frames Dies ... these are already becoming a go-to product in my craft space.  I actually cut the frame twice - once using a piece of new Perfectly Penciled DSP, and once using Orchid Oasis card.  I have used only the inner piece of the frame cut from the DSP.  Perfectly Penciled DSP is all black and white designs.  I used Stampin' Blends markers, to colour the floral piece.  The flowers are coloured in Orchid Oasis, with Dark So Saffron centres.  I first coloured the leaves with Parakeet Party Stampin' Blends, but decided the tones were too yellow, so I coloured over them with Granny Apple Green.  I coloured the background with my Light Smoky Slate Stampin' Blends marker.

The three fussy-cut floral sprays have been popped up on Stampin' Dimensionals.  Hopefully you can see from this closer shot that I added Wink of Stella to the flowers that are raised.

The sentiment, from Artfully Layered, was stamped in Orchid Oasis ink on Basic White card.  I used a new Stylish Shapes Die to create the banner, and added a double bow made from In Color Baker's Twine.

To the right-hand side of the frame, I added three In Color Matte Decorative Dots.

Next up on tonight's blog hop is Diane Furniss.  If you click on the button below, you'll be taken to her blog:
