STAMPIN' UP! FALLING FLOWERS "JUST A NOTE" CARD

I'm back in my craft room today, which is a lovely feeling; lately I've not been able to create much.

Today I have to share with you the second in my newly-designated "series" of cards that can be sent for a number of occasions.  Sometimes you just want to have on hand a "just because" card, don't you?

I've had my Falling Flowers stamp set, and co-ordinating May Flowers framelits, on my desk for a little while, just waiting to be used.  Once I decided on this soft, calming, colour scheme, my card came together easily:

I have had a bit of fun with new products today, using the Festive embossing folder, and Fabulous Foil Designer Acetate, for the first time.  I cut two scalloped circles of the acetate, and used them as a subtle base for my cluster of flowers.  Adhesive was placed strategically, to be covered by the flowers.  The beautiful thing about these acetate sheets, is that one side shows a gold foil pattern, and the reverse side is silver - very cool, and versatile.

Listed below are the Stampin' Up! products I used to make this card.  If you would like to buy the products,  simply click on a thumbnail image, to be taken to my online store.

It's a beautiful sunny day (although still a little cool) in Melbourne today - ah, the promise of Spring, only a couple of short weeks away!  I hope you're having a nice day, wherever you are.   Thanks for visiting my blog today.

JAI #296: STAMPIN' UP PICTURE PERFECT MASCULINE BIRTHDAY CARD

Di has set our Just Add Ink challenge this week ... it is to "Just Add Nature" to your papercraft project.

I have a HUGE soft-spot for hummingbirds, so Stampin' Up!'s new Picture Perfect stamp set was a "must have" for me. I look forward to using lots of bright colour combinations with the 4-step stamps but have for today's card used more muted colours.

The awesome Going Places Designer Series Paper determined my colour scheme of Sahara Sand, Lost Lagoon, Basic Black and Very Vanilla.  I've managed to incorporate four different pieces of the paper stack on my card; just love the designs!

After stamping the hummingbird, I masked it off, and stamped some grungy elements from Timeless Textures (this'll be my new favourite masculine stamp set, I'm sure) in the background.  I added a little shimmer to the bird's Basic Black throat, using my clear Wink of Stella pen, but you might just have to take my word for that, as I couldn't capture it well in a photograph!

This is the first time I've inked up my Silhouettes & Script stamp set, for the sentiment.  It is a "hostess set", able only to be earned for free with orders over $250 (the dollar value shown below is indicative of value only).

I had a lot of fun making this card (masculine cards are my favourite kind to make); I hope you like it, too!

Make sure you check out what the rest of the Just Add Ink Design Team have done with the "nature" brief.  We'd love to have you play along with our challenge.
