STAMPIN' UP! WHIMSICAL TREES CHRISTMAS CARD

After playing with Mint Macaron for last week's Colour Creations blog hop, I made a second card.  This one is a Christmas card, featuring the Whimsical Trees bundle and Whimsy & Wonder Designer Series Paper.  Mint Macaron with white and silver is a very pretty colour combination ... rather calming, don't you think?

Starting off with a Mint Macaron card base, I added a layer of Basic White card.  Onto this, I adhered three different patterns of Whimsy & Wonder Designer Series Paper, in varying widths.

Using the Christmas Trees Dies, I cut one tree from Mint Macaron card, and one from Snowy White Velvet Paper.  I stamped, and silver-embossed, dotty ornaments onto the Mint Macaron tree, and added a tiny star cut from Silver Foil Specialty Paper to each tree.  Before adhering the trees and stars, I added a length of White Glittered Organdy Ribbon to my card front.

The sentiment was stamped in Mint Macaron ink on a piece of Basic White card, and cut out using a Tailor Made Tags Die.  After stamping and silver-embossing the decorative holly on a piece of Basic White card, I coloured the leaves using Mint Macaron Stampin' Blends, and die cut it.  The tag and holly are tucked under the bow.

How pretty are the Iridescent Rhinestones I have dotted on my card front?  This is a new product, coming out on 4th January.  I think they complement the foiled accents on the papers beautifully, and go nicely with the White Glittered Organdy Ribbon.

STAMPIN' UP! HEART OF CHRISTMAS - WEEK 20

A group of us, part of the Art With Heart Stampin' Up! team in Australia, shares our Christmas creations every Monday night until the end of November.  We hope to inspire you to use Stampin' Up! products on your Christmas cards and handmade gifts.

My share tonight is featuring the Whimsical Trees stamp set.  I first die-cut two Tailor Made Tags from Basic White card, and stamped the images on them while they were placed together, one above the other.  I stamped the Christmas tree in Mossy Meadow ink (then coloured it using Mossy Meadow Stampin' Blends markers), and the ornaments in Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  The ornaments were coloured using Stampin' Blends markers in Real Red, Old Olive and Mossy Meadow.  I added Wink of Stella to the ornament tops, and beneath the tree.

Before adhering the decorated tags to the background panel of Designer Series Paper, I die-cut (using a  Penned Flowers die) a scalloped border from a contrasting piece of the Heartwarming Hugs DSP.

The sentiment, stamped in Real Red ink using an Inspired Thoughts stamp, was cut out using an Ornate Frames die.  I cut two more of the same shape, using Real Red card, and trimmed the ends down to use it as a mat for the stamped sentiment.  A Real Red satin bow, and some Wonderful Gems, were added as finishing touches.

Can you see the sparkle of the Wink of Stella on the ornament tops?  I can see where I smudged some ink, unknowingly!  We'll just ignore that, shall we?!
