STAMPIN' UP! JAR OF FLOWERS BIRTHDAY CARD IN MELON MAMBO

This week's Colour Creations blog hop is all about Melon Mambo.

I've used the Jar of Flowers stamp set to create a bouquet of deep pink tulips in a jar.  I started off by stamping the flowers, jar, and extra stems inside the jar, on a piece of Basic White card, using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  The jar lid (that we're imagining has a hole in the top, in which the flowers sit) was stamped separately in Versamark ink, and heat-embossed with silver embossing powder.  I fussy-cut the embossed image, and glued it on after colouring the bouquet.

To colour the main images, I used Stampin' Blends markers in Melon Mambo, Old Olive, So Saffron and Fresh Freesia.  The water in the jar is stamped in Pool Party ink, that I stamped off first onto scrap paper, to give a lighter impression on my card.  I cut out the main panel with an Ornate Layers Die, and matted it on a layer of Silver Foil.

After colouring the flowers, I added Wink of Stella to the tulips, for a little shimmer to complement the silver elements on my card.  I used Melon Mambo Stampin' Blends markers to colour White Glittered Organdy ribbon, and rhinestones.

Underneath the focal panel, I added a Square Vellum Doily, cut in half so I could extend it out the sides of the Silver Foil layer.  The sentiment strip was made into a banner by flagging one end with the Tailored Tag punch.  The rhinestones were strategically placed to try to cover up ink I managed to smudge on my main panel ... but I'm not sure I was entirely successful!

STAMPIN' UP! JAR OF FLOWERS ANNIVERSARY CARD

After making a card for last night's Balmy Blue blog hop, I thought I'd use this lovely soft blue on another card.  Here's the colour scheme for today's card:

I first stamped the flowers on a piece of Basic White card, using Smoky Slate ink.  Using a Post-it Note, I then masked off the flowers, and stamped the jar/vase, also in Smoky Slate ink.  With the mask still in place, I also stamped the flower stems.   I cut out this panel with an Ornate Layers Die.

After removing the Post-it Note mask, I coloured the flowers using Balmy Blue Stampin' Blends, and my Light Night of Navy Stampin' Blends marker.  The leaves and stems are coloured with Granny Apple Green Stampin' Blends.  I added a couple of tiny die-cut flowers, created with Perennial Petals Dies, and the same Balmy Blue DSP I used across the bottom of my card.  A few Night of Navy rhinestones were added to flower centres.

Here you can see the gorgeous detail of the Stitched Greenery Die, on the Balmy Blue background panel.

I stamped the "water" in the jar using Balmy Blue ink, stamped off onto scrap paper first.  My inkpad was a bit "bubbly", and I like the effect it provided for the water!

The sentiment, from Many Messages, was stamped in Night of Navy ink on Balmy Blue card.  I cut it out using the Messages Die, then trimmed the ends with Paper Snips.

Inside the card I added a strip of the same DSP used on the card front, along with another sentiment from Many Messages:
