STAMPIN' UP! SIMPLY SUCCULENTS BIRTHDAY CARD IN MINT MACARON

 

This week's Colour Creations blog hop is showcasing Mint Macaron, one of Stampin' Up!'s beautiful soft greens.  I am sad to say it's the last Colour Creations blog hop I will be involved in for a little while.  I am having ankle surgery next week, and will be laid up, with my foot elevated unnaturally high, for quite some time.   I'll be following the blog hops from the sidelines, and as soon as I'm able to return to my craft room, I hope to be able to take part again.

Mint Macaron is a lovely colour to use for succulents, which prompted me to show some love to my rather neglected Simply Succulents stamp set, and co-ordinating Potted Succulents Dies.

I had a lot of fun making this card, doing lots of stamping and colouring.  I started off with a background panel of Mint Macaron Gingham Cottage Designer Series Paper.  Using Mint Macaron ink, I repeatedly stamped (onto the gingham paper) the largest image from Simply Succulents.  After sponging around the edges of this paper with Mint Macaron ink, I adhered it to a slightly larger Mint Macaron card mat.

Petal Pink and Smoky Slate are the two soft colours I chose to use with Mint Macaron.  I cut two strips of Petal Pink paper from the Design A Daydream DSP pack, and laid them across the front of my card.  The join between the two different patterns is hidden by the sentiment, and one of the potted succulents.

I stamped the pot/pail, and a few of the succulents, in Smoky Slate ink on Basic White card.  I used Mint Macaron to stamp the other succulents.  All of these pieces, that were then die-cut, were coloured with Stampin' Blends in Smoky Slate, Mint Macaron, and Petal Pink.  I used the Color Lifter on the pot/pail.

The dangling succulents were die-cut from Mint Macaron card, and I added colour and depth with my Dark Mint Macaron Stampin' Blends marker.

Even though the Adhesive-Backed Sequins are technically Coastal Cabana, I think they look beautiful against the Mint Macaron paper.

The sentiment, from Artistically Inked, was stamped in Mint Macaron ink on Basic White card, and cut out using a Sending Die.

STAMPIN' UP! SIMPLY SUCCULENTS STRIPED CARDS

 One of the items you can choose for free, with a $90 purchase of Stampin' Up! products until the end of September, is the Penguin Playmates Designer Series Paper:

I'm really not into the cutesy animal prints, but love the colours in this pack of papers.  I have two cards to share with you today, made with the polka dot and the striped papers from this pack, and using the Picture This Dies:

I decided the Simply Succulents stamp set would be a great one to use, with the colours in these papers.

Here is the first card I came up with, using the die with the round apertures:

I coloured the succulents using Stampin' Blends markers, in Soft Sea Foam, Just Jade and Fresh Freesia.  The pot was coloured with Misty Moonlight Stampin' Blends, and the Color Lifter pen, and the sentiment was stamped in Misty Moonlight ink.

I die cut some succulent pieces from Just Jade, Soft Sea Foam and Fresh Freesia card.  Embellishments added, to finish off my card, were a Fresh Freesia Open Weave Ribbon bow, and some 2021-2023 In Color Jewels.

Here is the second card, made using the Picture This Die with rectangular apertures:

Again, I stamped the sentiment in Misty Moonlight ink.  After die-cutting it with a sentiment label die from the Potted Succulents Die set, it fit nicely inside the top rectangular window:

I used the same coloured Stampin' Blends to colour the succulents, and the same coloured card to die-cut the additional succulent pieces.  In Color Jewels adorn the coloured plants, and I added a bow made from Flowers For Every Season ribbon.

Because I used a Just Jade card base for this second card, I adhered a Basic White panel inside.  I trimmed down the rectangles die-cut from the striped paper, and decorated the inside of the card with them:
