BLUSH BLOSSOM AND GOING GRAY ... I'll miss you two, too!

In the same vein as my last post, I thought I'd share with you another card made with colours we'll be farewelling from the Stampin' Up! range at the end of next month.

I'm not sure that I've ever given Blush Blossom the attention that it deserves!  As soon as I started working with it on this card, I fell in love with the colour - it's gorgeous!  I love the softness of the ink colour, especially.  I used an aquapainter, and my Blush Blossom Stampin' Pad (with ink pooled in the lid), to colour one of the white flowers from the Pretties Kit.  I adhered the flower to the card using Crystal Effects, because a glue dot wouldn't hold .... as a result, the centre of the flower turned a cloudy, pale colour, which I rather like.  I photographed my card at night, so forgive the lack of clarity - I was impatient (yet again), knowing I wouldn't be home during the day, and wanted to post this on my blog!

Stamps: En Francais, Embrace Life, Teeny Tiny Sentiments
Card: Blush Blossom, Going Gray, Very Vanilla
Ink: Blush Blossom and Basic Gray stampin' pads
Other: Scallop Edge Punch, Basic Gray Taffeta Ribbon, Sponge Dauber, Sponge,  Flower & Flat-backed Pearl from Pretties Kit, Crystal Effects

Oh Groovy Guava, I do love you, even if you are SO "last year"!

Today's the day for a corny title, and a very quick blog post, my friends.  Family commitments have kept me away from my blog, and from my craft room, this past week.  I have stolen a few minutes (when I should be preparing my family a meal, but there are more pressing issues at hand...) to share with you a card that I made 'just for the sake of it', because I wanted to give some love to my neglected Groovy Guava ink and papers.  This was one of the "in colours" from Stampin' Up! last year; available only for 12 months.  I love it, and was a bit sad to say goodbye, but still have ink, ribbon, card and paper to keep me happy.

I have used some buttons from my rather extensive stash - how well does that big button in the top left match the card, though?  Everything else is from Stampin' Up!  Here's what I made:

Guava embrace life

Stamps: Embrace Life, Best Yet

Card: Kraft, Groovy Guava, Very Vanilla, Gable Green

DSP: Ginger Blossom

Ink: Groovy Guava Stampin' pad, Versamark

Other: Clear embossing powder, corner rounder punch, paper piercer, deckled rectangle nestabilities, kraft taffeta ribbon, buttons (not SU!), Groovy Guava stitched ribbon, mini glue dots, white string

Hope you like it - that's the only creation I have to share for now, but have firm plans for more 'play time' sometime in the next week!   Best be off to half-prepare some food, then pick up my youngest from football training ("mother of the year" did the drop-and-run tonight, because Ethan had already done tennis training, and I needed a bit of 'time out' - is that bad??).

Christine :)
