STAMPIN' UP! THINKING OF YOU CARD IN OLD OLIVE

This week's Colour Creations blog hop is all about Old Olive, long one of my favourite greens in Stampin' Up!'s colour range.  It is a yellowy-green, and has been usurped in the "favourites" stakes by some of our newer bluey-greens, but I still love it!

My card for tonight shows off some of the gorgeous new Artfully Composed Designer Series Paper, which, as well as containing some stunning leafy designs, has Old Olive in the mix.

I started by cutting the leafy paper with a Picture This Die.  I removed the cut-out rectangles from the "windows", and used Foam Adhesive Strips to mat the DSP onto a piece of Old Olive card.  I then placed the top and bottom DSP rectangle inside the raised frame, adhering them directly to the Old Olive card using Stampin' Seal.  I die-cut another frame from Thick Basic White card, and used only the centre cut-out piece to put into the middle opening on my card front.

The sentiment, from the Art Gallery stamp set, was stamped on Old Olive card using Versamark ink.  I then heat-embossed it, using white embossing powder, and cut it out with a sentiment die from the Floral Gallery Dies.  The sentiment was attached to the Basic White card piece, using Mini Stampin' Dimensionals.

From Old Olive card, I die cut two open leaves, using the Tropical Layers Dies.  I dotted Multipurpose Liquid Glue onto the reverse of the leaves, and strategically placed them over the "windows", so they're adhered only in a few places.  A few Opal Rounds finish off my card.

Here are some closer shots, that show the beautiful details in the paper and die cuts:

STAMPIN' UP! ART GALLERY NOTE CARDS IN MAGENTA MADNESS

This week's Colour Creations blog hop is all about Magenta Madness, a bold pink that is one of Stampin' Up!'s 2020-2022 In Colors.

I seldom use this pink, but think it is absolutely beautiful for flowers.  I like to have "thank you" note cards on hand, so have made a set of four, featuring Magenta Madness, using Stampin' Up!'s Note Cards & Envelopes.  I have used the Art Gallery stamp set, and co-ordinating Floral Gallery Dies on each card, and have used a strip of each pattern of Magenta Madness paper from the 2020-2022 In Color 6"x6" Designer Series Paper pack.  Each card has a different embossed panel, and different ribbon, and I have used black accents.  The foliage is stamped in Granny Apple Green ink, and each flower head is stamped in Magenta Madness - the solid base layer in "stamped off" ink, and the detailed petal layer in full-strength ink.  On each card I have used 2020-2022 In Color Square Gems.

On this card I used a Greenery embossing folder, and white seam binding ribbon, coloured with my Dark Magenta Madness Stampin' Blends marker:

The background of my second card was embossed with the Parisian Flourish 3D embossing folder, and I used Black Glittered Organdy Ribbon for the bow.  Forgive the feathery edges on my white panel - I didn't realise I need to put a new blade in my trimmer, until I saw these photos!

My third card has a background created with a Checks & Dots embossing folder, and an added knot of Black & White Gingham Ribbon.

Finally, a background embossed with the Painted Texture 3D embossing folder, and ribbon treatment courtesy of White Glittered Organdy Ribbon coloured with the Dark Magenta Madness Stampin' Blends marker.

For each card, I stamped an envelope - two with the larger bloom, and two with the clusters of smaller flowers:

I really enjoyed playing with this colour that I don't gravitate towards.  You will find lots of inspiration on tonight's blog hop!  Next up is Vicki Boucher.  If you click on the button below, you'll be taken to her blog:
