AWHT HEART OF CHRISTMAS - NOVEMBER

Tonight I am participating in the last Heart of Christmas share for this year.  Judy May co-ordinates these Christmas shares, and has a list on her blog of all participants.  We hope you will visit everyone's blogs, and, if you feel inspired to do so, leave us some comment love!

The beautiful Brightly Gleaming Designer Series Papers were carried over from last Christmas.  I used them a lot last year, but so far this year had not - so, they formed the starting point for my card.  I've used some papers in Pretty Peacock, Night of Navy and Very Vanilla, and added copper accents.

After adhering two vertical panels of patterned paper to a Very Vanilla piece of card, I used one of the Curvy Dies to cut the lower portion.  On a slightly larger mat of Very Vanilla card, I stamped (in Pretty Peacock ink) the sentiment, from the Curvy Christmas stamp set, and stuck the die-cut paper panel on top.

I stamped the mistletoe, in Pretty Peacock ink, on a Stitched Shape oval, and added some Very Vanilla die-cut  sprigs.  On a scrap of Very Vanilla card, I stamped the bow in Versamark ink, and embossed it with (now retired) copper embossing powder.  I have coloured the bow with Night of Navy Stampin' Blends.  The fussy-cut bow is popped up on Mini Stampin' Dimensionals.

Here's a closer view of the curvy die-cut edge, the sentiment, and a couple of the sweet copper Star Designer Elements:

I decorated the inside of the card with the strip of DSP that was trimmed off the front panel (after it had been cut with the Curvy Die):

STAMPIN' UP! TOILE TIDINGS CRUMB CAKE & GARDEN GREEN CHRISTMAS CARD

Toile Tidings Designer Series Paper is on special until the end of October.  The pack contains papers in Garden Green and Very Vanilla, and Real Red and Very Vanilla, designs.  I struggle to know what to do with this paper, so I have altered it a little.  I chose one of the paper patterns with foliage all over it.  I started off colouring a few of the sprigs (mistletoe, I think) with the Garden Green Stampin' Write Marker, then decided to add Crumb Cake ink to the whole piece, using a Sponge Brayer.  I like that the application of ink brings out the subtle background pattern in the paper.

The background is clearer in this photo, as are the tiny Very Vanilla (I know they look white, in the photo!) Stitched Stars added to the top of the tallest die-cut tree:

The Very Vanilla and gold accents help to lighten the card up a little ... I liked the vintagey look, but it did look a bit dreary with just Crumb Cake and Garden Green!

I have used the new Curvy Dies, and Curvy Christmas stamp set (for the sentiment), which will be available for purchase from 3rd November.  All other products used to make this card are available now in my online store.  If you live in Australia, and would like to shop with me for your Stampin' Up! supplies, you can get to my online store by clicking on any of the thumbnail images below.

AWHT HEART OF CHRISTMAS - OCTOBER

Tonight I am taking part in a monthly Heart of Christmas showcase, co-ordinated by Judy May.  My friends and I hope to inspire you to use Stampin' Up! products for your Christmas projects.

The colours I chose to use on my Christmas card were taken from Heartwarming Hugs Designer Series Paper - some of my favourite paper this festive season, and it's on sale until the end of October.

My card features some new products, that are coming out next month.  As a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, I was able to purchase them in advance of general release ... and they're lovely!  The Curvy Christmas stamp set was used to stamp the row of small trees, in Mossy Meadow ink on Pear Pizzazz card.  I used Pear Pizzazz ink to fill space below the trees with the dotty stamp (that is probably meant to be snow, but that doesn't generally apply to us in the Southern Hemisphere at Christmas).  The sentiment is also from this stamp set.  I stamped it in Versamark ink, on some of the Heartwarming Hugs Designer Series Paper, sprinkled white embossing powder over the ink, and heat embossed it with my heat tool.

I have used one of the new Curvy Dies (also out next month) to cut the decorative edge on the Pear Pizzazz card panel.  This piece has also been embossed using the beautiful Evergreen Forest 3D embossing folder.

Here's a closer look at the embossed background, and the lone die-cut tree that was created using the In the Pines bundle.  On a scrap of Pear Pizzazz card, I stamped the tree outline in Mossy Meadow ink.  I stamped the "fill in" foliage in Pear Pizzazz ink.

Listed below are the current products I used to create this card.  The Curvy Christmas stamp set and Curvy Dies are not available to purchase until 3rd November, but if you would like to shop with me for any of the other products I've used, you can get to my online store by clicking on any of the thumbnail images below.  NB:  My store is for Australian residents only.
