JAI #319: JUST ADD INSPIRATION

It's Friday, which means a new challenge is up at Just Add Ink,  Here's the inspiration pic Di is challenging us to use, in creating a papercraft project:

I used this pic as inspiration for a birthday card for my Dad.  My take on it is quite literal; please excuse my lack of creativity on this one!

In hindsight, I think I should have stamped the wreath on Crumb Cake card ... but, it was the most beautifully aligned impression of the leaves and berries, and die, that I've ever managed, so I didn't want to do it over!  LOL.

The Antique brad and Jute Ribbon (which I cut into a narrow strip) are retired.  Listed below are all the current Stampin' Up! products I used, and which you may buy from my online store by clicking on one of the thumbnail images.

Make sure you check out the rest of the Design Team members' creations at Just Add Ink.

STAMPIN' UP! WONDROUS WREATH FOR MM #160

I have made a card for this week's Merry Monday Christmas Challenge, which is to use newsprint on a Christmas card.

I stamped the gorgeous wreath, from Wondrous Wreath, directly onto a piece of Typeset Designer Series Paper.  Using Always Artichoke ink, I "stamped off" the image once onto scrap paper, then stamped it (without re-inking) onto the text panel.  I added a second layer of leaves in full-strength Always Artichoke, and berries in Cherry Cobbler.  A few rhinestones, coloured with Cherry Cobbler blendabilities, add a bit of sparkle to the otherwise rustic-looking wreath.

Here's a closer view of the sparkly berries:

It has been a while since I made a Christmas card, and I really enjoyed this challenge; I must make the effort to join in more often at Merry Monday.  It feels good to have Christmas cards made well in advance of the madness of November and December!
