THE HEART OF CHRISTMAS #6: STAMPIN' UP! LOVELY AS A TREE

I'm back with my new regular Wednesday feature, taking part in some Stampin' Up! Christmas idea sharing, with other members of Claire Daly's Art With Heart Team.

This week I've gone a bit rustic, with an old favourite stamp set, Lovely As A Tree.  I have incorporated some woodgrain elements, with the DSP I've used, and with a new Dynamic Textured Impression Embossing Folder.

After I had stamped the trees on the Very Vanilla piece, I ran the cardstock through my Big Shot, with the new Pinewood Planks embossing folder.  I sponged some Crumb Cake ink over the top of the debossed image, to bring out some of the detail.  Here's a closer look:

Make sure you check out all the creations being shared by the team this week.  Claire has a list on her blog, of all participants.  We hope you love what we've made; please comment on all the blogs, so we know you have been to visit.

As always, if you would like to buy Stampin' Up! products to make these projects yourself, you can go to my online store by clicking on one of the thumbnail images below.  Thanks for visiting today!

JAI #235: STAMPIN' UP!'S LOVELY AS A TREE

This week at Just Add Ink, Kim has challenged us to use these colours on a papercraft project:

This challenge REALLY got me thinking!  I had quite a time of it, trying to work out a good balance of all the colours - I had several ideas that were canned, after they turned out disastrously.  In the end, I opted for quite a bit of white, and my favourite neutral, Crumb Cake, to tone down the contrasts.

Even though the 'baubles' on the centre tree look red, I assure you they are stamped in Strawberry Slush ink!  Because Blackberry Bliss is so bold, I opted to use it sparingly, for the sentiment.

Here are the Stampin' Up! products I used to make this card:

Please check out the rest of the Just Add Ink Design Team's creations, using these colours - everyone has nailed this challenge!  We would love to see your creation using these colours; won't you play along?
