STAMPIN' UP! SIMPLY ZINNIA BIRTHDAY CARD FEATURING PUMPKIN PIE

There is a beautful new suite of products on offer from Stampin' Up!, as an Online Exclusive (meaning they won't appear in a catalogue).  The Flowering Zinnias suite includes a stamp set and co-ordinating dies, beautiful Designer Series Paper, a 3D embossing folder, and self-adhesive sequins.  I've used everything on today's card, made while I was creating with Pumpkin Pie for this week's Colour Creations blog hop.

The sentiment is from the Beautiful Balloons stamp set.  I stamped it in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, on a piece of patterned paper from the Flowering Zinnias DSP pack.  After cutting it out using a Stylish Shapes Die, I sponged the edges with Lemon Lime Twist ink.

In this photo, you can see some of the gorgeous detail of the Zinnia 3D embossing folder, on the Basic White panel.  I coloured some Adhesive-Backed Shiny Sequins with the Dark Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Blends marker.  The alcohol-based markers don't colour these sequins evenly, so I just dotted on colour to give them a mottled appearance.

The zinnias were stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, on Basic White card, and coloured with Stampin' Blends markers.  I used Pumpkin Pie and Lemon Lolly on the flowers, and Lemon Lime Twist and Old Olive on the leaves.  The flowers were then brushed with Wink of Stella to make them sparkle a little.

After die-cutting the flowers, I arranged them on top of a Thoughtful Expressions die-cut in Basic Black, and layered them onto another piece of Flowering Zinnias DSP that I'd sponged around the edges with Pumpkin Pie ink.

As I used a Crumb Cake card base, I added a Basic White insert to the inside.  I cut a strip of the same Pumpkin Pie and Lemon Lolly DSP as on the front of the card, and sponged it with Pumpkin Pie ink before gluing it to the Basic White panel.

Listed below are all the products I used to make this card.  I have linked to the individual products, as well as providing a link for purchasing the entire suite all in one hit (much easier than entering each product code, if you want all the "bits").

STAMPIN' UP! BEAUTIFUL BALLOONS BIRTHDAY CARD IN HIGHLAND HEATHER #2

In the process of making my card for this week's Colour Creations blog hop, I stamped and punched a few extra bits.   A little more stamping and die-cutting meant I had enough to make another card, using this same lovely colour combination:

Here's card #2:

The background for this card was created by stamping Sketched Plaid in Highland Heather ink on Fresh Freesia card.  I then used a ruler to add extra lines, using my Basic Gray Stampin' Write marker and a white gel pen.  Highland Heather ink was sponged around the edges of the plaid panel, before it was mounted on a Basic Gray layer.

The balloons were stamped in Highland Heather, Basic Gray and Fresh Freesia ink, with extra detail added to each balloon in the same ink colour.  I stamped "Happy Birthday" on the two outer balloons, and some extra starry confetti on the middle balloon.

Iridescent Rhinestones add a sparkly, whimsical touch.  I love all the different hues picked up by these gems.

Using the Alphabest bundle, I created the "celebrate" banner.  I first stamped each letter outline in Highland Heather ink, on Highland Heather card, then stamped the letters in Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  The co-ordinating punch made easy work of cutting out each letter.  I chose to just add white baker's twine bows at each end of the banner, deciding a string along the letters looked too heavy.
