STAMPIN' UP!'S SHELTERING TREE - MASCULINE BIRTHDAY

My eldest brother had a birthday a week or so back.  Not only was I late in sending his card, but I'm later still, blogging it!  I had my first play with the scrumptious new Bohemian Designer Series Paper, that will be available to purchase from 2nd June.  Those of us who attended Stampin' Up!'s recent Inspire.Create.Share event received a pack for free - woohoo!  The pack is full of rich jewel-toned papers, some with very bold patterns, but (as is often the case with SU!) the reverse sides mostly have smaller patterns.

Here I've used cardstock and DSP in one of the new In Colors (also coming out 2nd June).  Delightful Dijon works well with Hello Honey; I'm liking the mustardy yellows.

I inked up the 'leaves' in Hello Honey, then used the "thumping" technique to add a bit of colour using my Cherry Cobbler and Tangerine Tango markers.

I just LOVE the font of the sentiment I used on this card.  It's from a new set called Build a Birthday ... yes, you guessed it, available from 2nd June!  Not long to wait now - that's only next week. :)

All of the current Stampin' Up! products used in making this card are listed below, and can be purchased from my online store; if you click on any of the thumbnail images, you'll be taken to my store.

Please come back to visit tomorrow; I'll be sharing the card I made for my other brother, who just celebrated his 50th birthday on the weekend.

JAI #263: STAMPIN' UP'S YOUR PERFECT DAY

Our Just Add Ink challenge this week, courtesy of Jan, is to Just Add ... Wedding.

I have used a classic black and gold colour combo, with Shimmery White cardstock, on the card I'm sharing with you today.

The wedding cake has been gold embossed, and the lovely big sentiment black embossed, to give an elegant look - which I've carried through with the gold satin ribbon, and dry-embossed background.

Here's a close-up view of the cake banner, so you can see a little of the shimmer on the card, and the lovely gold embossing that doesn't show too well in my main photo:

All of the Stampin' Up! products I've used to create this card are listed below; if you click on any of the images, you'll be taken to my online store.

Be sure to check out the rest of the Design Team's wedding creations, and we hope you'll play along!

JAI #262: A COLOUR CHALLENGE, AND A SNEAK PEEK

This week's Just Add Ink challenge, courtesy of Di, is a beautiful colour challenge.  Take a look at the lovely colour combo we are using as a springboard for creativity, in making a card or other papercraft project:

In what is a highly unusual occurrence for me, I have used only ONE stamp set to make my card!

At the recent Stampin' Up! Inspire.Create.Share event, I attended my first Leadership session, and Manager's Reception.   We were lucky enough to receive a gorgeous stamp set, from the upcoming Stampin' Up! 2015-2016 Annual Catalogue.  The set is called Awesomely Artistic, and has a beautiful selection of stamps - I've used 5 of them on my card!  Whilst I can't link to this stamp set in my online store, as it's not available to purchase until 2nd June, I have listed below all the other products used to make my card.

Make sure you check out the rest of the Just Add Ink Design Team's projects; they are beautiful!
