STAMPIN' UP! SOFTLY SOPHISTICATED CARD IN POPPY PARADE

This week's Colour Creations blog hop features creations starring Poppy Parade, a vibrant red (with orangey tones) in Stampin' Up!'s range.  We are all Stampin' Up! demonstrators in Australia, and love to share ideas with you every week, whilst working our way through Stampin' Up!'s colour offerings, in alphabetical order.

The Sunny Days Designer Series Paper, a Sale-A-Bration freebie (spend $90+ on Stampin' Up! catalogue products before the end of February, and you can get this paper for FREE), is chock-full of gorgeous patterns.  The Poppy Parade floral paper stood out like a beacon, when I was choosing how to create with colour this week!

Also featured on my card is the Softly Sophisticated bundle, another FREE offering until the end of February.  This stamp set and embossing folder can be yours for free if you purchase $180+ of Stampin' Up! product.

The sentiment, flowers, stems and leaves are all stamps from the Softly Sophisticated set.  Shockingly, I used only one stamp set on this card!

I stamped the leaves and stems first on Basic White card, using Granny Apple Green ink.  I then added the flowers and buds in Poppy Parade ink.  After cutting out the pierced circle, using Stylish Shapes Dies, I stamped the sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

The die-cut circle is matted on a Deckled Circle, cut from Basic Black card.

The horizontal Basic White strip was embossed with the Softly Sophisticated 3D embossing folder, mounted on Basic Black card, and adhered to the poppy-patterned paper.  I sponged Poppy Parade ink around the edges of the DSP before layering it.

Here's a better view of one of the Poppy Parade Iridescent Adhesive-Backed Discs, so you can really see how shiny they are!  The bow was created with Basic White Herringbone Ribbon, and attached with Tear & Tape.  I find this sticks a bit better than glue dots, for a wide ribbon that makes a bulkier bow.

Inside the Poppy Parade card, I added a Basic White card panel, on which I stamped another of the Softly Sophisticated sentiments (in Memento Black ink), and another floral spray to tie in with the design on the front of the card.

Next up on tonight's blog hop is Rachel Woollard:

STAMPIN' UP! BRIGHT SKIES CARD

Today's card features the Bright Skies bundle (cute stamps and dies) from Stampin' Up!'s January - April Mini Catalogue.  The papers I've used are from the co-ordinating Sunny Days Designer Series Paper pack, that can be earned for FREE with a $90+ Stampin' Up! order before the end of February.

I sponged the edges of both patterned papers with Pool Party ink, then matted them on a Pool Party card layer.

The three clouds were die-cut from the Designer Series Paper.  After stamping the sun in Crushed Curry ink, on Basic White card, I cut it out using the co-ordinating die, and tucked it behind the clouds.

I stamped the tulips in Poppy Parade and Petal Pink ink, and the flower stems in Shaded Spruce ink, on Basic White card.  I love that there are matching dies for these little stamped images.

The sentiment, stamped in Pool Party ink on Basic White card, was cut out using a Deckled Rectangles Die.  I cut it out once, then moved the card within the die, to custom fit it to my sentiment, then ran the sentiment label back through my Stampin' Cut & Emboss machine.

Pool Party Grosgrain Ribbon, and Petal Pink Foiled Gems, were my embellishments of choice for this card.

Listed below are all the products I used to create my card.  If you live in Australia, and would like to shop with me for your Stampin' Up! supplies, you can get to my online store by clicking on any of the thumbnail images below.

NB:  The price below the Sunny Days DSP is indicative of value only.  You cannot purchase this paper - it can only be earned for free with an order of $90+ of current product, before the end of this month.

STAMPIN' UP! BEE MY VALENTINE PETAL PINK FRIENDSHIP CARD

Today's card features the Bee My Valentine bundle, and Bee Mine Designer Series Papers.  Petal Pink and Sweet Sorbet are not my go-to colours, but I still think this looks pretty cute!

The sentiment (from Hope You Know) was stamped on Basic White card, using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I used the largest Adoring Hearts Die to cut around the sentiment in a heart shape.  I am in love with the Adhesive-Backed Hearts & Flowers ... I think I need to buy another pack!

The Petal Pink scalloped border in between the honeycomb-patterned paper, and the paper with little bees on, was created using a Scalloped Contours Die.

The "star of the show" bee was stamped in Daffodil Delight and Memento Tuxedo Black inks, before being punched out.  The antennae were stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and the wings in Petal Pink ink, then also punched out with the Bee Builder punch.

I added Black & White gingham ribbon to my card, and stamped some hearts in Sweet Sorbet ink, directly onto the Petal Pink DSP in the background.

Listed below are all the products I used to make my card.  If you live in Australia, and would like to shop with me for your Stampin' Up! supplies, you can get to my online store by clicking on any of the thumbnail images below.
