JAI #322: STAMPIN' UP! TOUCHES OF TEXTURE

Rochelle has set a gorgeous colour challenge for us at Just Add Ink this week.

I've used my new Touches of Texture stamp set to make a birthday card in these colours.  I love the grungy look of some of the stamps in this set.  The "messy" look of the flowers really appeals to me - it's rather liberating to not be as particular as I normally am, about colouring in the lines!

This card started with me stamping the lacy background stamp in Blushing Bride (stamped off once, so it's very faint), all over the Very Vanilla card.  I stamped one flower stem and flower head in Chocolate Chip ink, then did a bit of masking to fit two more flowers across the card.  The leaves and petals are filled in with a few different stamps from the set.

Here is a close-up of the background, so you can see I did incorporate Blushing Bride on my card!

I am in love with that banner sentiment.  It's from Time of Year, which is a hostess stamp set, available only if you place an order over $250.  I love that it's one of several sets that co-ordinates with the Bunch of Banners framelits.  The small "Happy" is from the gorgeous Designer Tin of Cards stamp set.

Be sure to check out the rest of the Just Add Ink Design Team's creations.  It's awesome to see how different everyone's creations are, using the same colours.
