JAI #208: HAPPY ANNIVERSARY COLOUR CHALLENGE

This week's colour challenge, over at Just Add Ink, inspired me when I sat down to make a card for hubby.  Yesterday we celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary.  We went out for a meal together - just the two of us.  I can't quite remember the last time we made time to do that, so it was a special way to mark the occasion.

Here is the very cool colour combo Mae suggested for our challenge this week:

My card, for the world's luckiest husband (ha ha), turned out like this:

Stamps: Hearts A Flutter, Morning Post Numbers, Off the Grid, Banner Blast, Express Yourself
Card: Smoky Slate, Whisper White, Calypso Coral
DSP: Pacific Point and Smoky Slate Patterns Designer Series Papers
Ink: Calypso Coral, Smoky Slate and Pacific Point stampin' pads
Other: Banners framelits, 1 3/4" Circle punch, Decorative Label punch, Stamp-a-ma-jig, Smoky Slate chevron ribbon, Hearts A Flutter framelits, Brights and Neutrals candy dots, sponge daubers, glue dots

Make sure you check out the awesome cards the rest of the Design Team have made, using this colour combo.  Why not play along with us?  We'd love to see what you come up with.

  1. First off, Happy Anniversary, Christine!! Nice the two of you had some time to yourselves to celebrate.

The challenge colors really lent themselves to the type of card you needed to make and it is just the right balance between masculine and "lovey". ;-)

  4. I love what you did with the colours, Christine - especially that Smoky Slate grid! I originally bought the grid stamp to do fishing nets on a beach layout, but I use it all the time! One of my go-to stamps for sure.
